Epitalon
A short peptide discussed in aging and cell research. There are major gaps in evidence about use in people.
Whole vial: 50 mg Vial math ↓
Why people look it up
Epitalon became popular in longevity and sleep discussions because cell studies found telomere-related signals and small human studies measured circadian biomarkers and a retinal condition. Those findings are much narrower than claims that it reverses aging or fixes sleep.
Circadian biomarkers in peopleLIMITED HUMAN EVIDENCE
A small sublingual study in night-shift workers measured urinary melatonin metabolite and clock-gene changes. It did not test sleep outcomes or this vial. Read source ↗
Retinal condition researchLIMITED HUMAN EVIDENCE
An older clinical report studied injection around the eye in people with retinitis pigmentosa; it does not show benefit for other uses or routes. Read source ↗
Telomere and cell-aging signalsMECHANISTIC / LAB EVIDENCE
Human cell-line experiments measured telomere-related changes; cells in a dish are not people taking a product. Read source ↗
Longer human lifespanINSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE
The small human studies did not test lifespan. Older Epithalamin extract studies cannot be treated as Epitalon trials. Read source ↗
Improved sleep or insomnia treatmentINSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE
The sublingual biomarker study did not measure sleep outcomes, and FDA found no clinical study of subcutaneous Epitalon for insomnia. Read source ↗

What the research actually showsHuman studies, evidence limits and mechanisms
What has actually been studied?
A small 2021 study gave a sublingual AEDG/Epitalon spray to night-shift workers and measured a melatonin metabolite and clock-gene expression, not sleep quality. A 2002 clinical report studied injections around the eye in retinitis pigmentosa. Neither tested a subcutaneous research vial for longevity or insomnia. Older Epithalamin extract studies concern a different substance.
Evidence limits: Whether Epitalon improves sleep, extends human life, or works by subcutaneous injection remains unproven. The small human studies used sublingual spray or injection around the eye, not this 50 mg research vial. Epithalamin is a different pineal extract.
Product status: Research-vial listings are not FDA-approved medicines. Approved-use labels on this page refer only to the named finished prescription product.
Human research
AEDG/Epitalon spray and circadian biomarkers in night-shift workers 2021
What was found: The authors reported changes in biomarkers after AEDG compared with baseline and placebo. Sleep quality and insomnia were not measured.
Main limit: Small, short study; no sleep outcome, no established long-term safety, and no evidence that its spray findings transfer to a dry vial or injection.

Epitalon in retinitis pigmentosa 2002
What was found: The authors reported favorable clinical observations; the accessible abstract does not establish a controlled benefit.

How researchers think it might work
Cell experiments have looked at whether Epitalon changes how cells maintain telomeres, the protective ends of chromosomes. That does not show a longevity effect in people.
Show scientific explanation
A 2025 cell-line experiment reported telomerase-related changes in normal cells and alternative lengthening of telomeres in cancer cell lines. These were cell exposures, not human administrations. Read supporting source ↗
