What is the question?
Lactation means producing breast milk. JD BioWorks reviews two small studies that measured tirzepatide in milk. Most samples had no reliably measurable amount, or very low measured levels.
What does that tell a beginner?
Measuring transfer into milk is different from proving safety for a baby. The studies differ in sampling and exposure, and an “undetectable” result depends on the smallest amount the test can reliably find.
NIH LactMed explains the small amount of evidence, possible buildup with repeated use, and missing data about babies. Pregnancy is a separate question. A parent’s treatment decision needs a clinician to review the exact medicine and circumstances; these findings do not establish safety for a purchased research vial.
“They do not establish infant safety.”
